A US-French dual national, Jean-Mathieu Cot, the founder of COT LAW, has over 25 years of professional experience having led the competition/antitrust practices in Paris of a number of international law firms such as Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Shearman & Sterling LLP, and Clifford Chance LLP.

 

He was in addition a Non-Governmental Advisor at the International Competition Network for the two French competition law agencies for nearly two decades, between 2002 and 2019.

 

Jean-Mathieu Cot’s experience and the reactivity of his firm enables COT LAW to provide a prompt, dynamic assessment of the matters on which he is asked to work; its small size enabling his firm to provide swift, informed and secure advice.

 

Jean-Mathieu Cot has been teaching competition law at Sciences Po Paris since 2013. Before this, he was teaching competition law in the Global Business Law joint program organized by Columbia Law School and Sciences Po (2008-2013).

 

He wrote, with Jean-Patrice de La Laurencie, the book «Le contrôle français des concentrations» (LGDJ). He continues to publish and speak on a regular basis.
